Melodic doom. Carefully crafted. Some stringed instruments to spice it up and even a folk interlude with female vocals. Raspy male vocals. No beauty and the beast nonsense. Songs are catchy and to the point. Listen to the 4th song first; it has one of those bittersweet hooks that could go on forever. I checked out Bill Morris' recommendations too, but this is the best one.
